ABOUT US

In the absence of a club dedicated to bioscience and its relatives, Future Faces of Medicine was created by a small group of students in Wheaton High School's Biomedical Magnet Academy.

"Although our textbooks and lessons expose us to bioscience, the narrative changes when we are in the room with the doctors, the nurses, and the patient(s) - here in the hospitals or in the laboratories, we are able to testify to medicinal miracles and conclusively apply all that we've learned in class. However, we acknowledge that opportunities to experience the real-life of the medicinal world are lacking in our school. Many students do not have readily available means to actively participate as volunteers or witnesses to the wonders of bioscience - whether the barriers are language, social class, or simply never being told what students can do in high school - we strive to translate our traditional classroom knowledge into a tangible reality, and to ultimately bridge the gap between all students and the magic of medicine."
